Until We’re All Free

The murder of Trayvon Martin in 2012 shook us to our core. Two years later, the killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson set the streets on fire and pushed a generation into action. These weren’t isolated tragedies—they were part of a long pattern of state violence that claimed the lives of Rekia Boyd, Sandra Bland, Korryn Gaines, and so many more.

Out of grief, rage, and love for our people, the Movement for Black Lives was born. We built networks, took risks, and told the truth about policing, prisons, climate change, transphobia, reproductive oppression, and other forms of systemic racism. We made demands not only to end violence, but to build a different kind of future for Black people everywhere.

The M4BL@10 documentary captures that decade of struggle and vision. It’s a record of organizers, artists, and everyday people who refused to accept the world as it is and insisted on the world as it should be. The short film lifts up the rage that fueled uprisings, the joy and ceremony that sustained us, and the lessons we carry forward.

This is a reminder that our fight is ongoing, that the blueprint for liberation is alive, and that we are still writing the next chapter together.
